General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – Ireland
This document sets out to guide loss adjusters in the Irish market on compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations. This is intended to assist our individual members with their compliance.
The General Data Protection Regulations provide a new framework for data protection. Whilst this is an EU Regulation similar regulations are coming into being in other parts of the world. This Regulation applies to the processing of personal data wholly or partly by automated means and to the processing other than by automated means of personal data which form part of a filing system or are intended to form part of a filing system. This paper will guide individual members on their personal compliance. Firms acting in the Irish market will undoubtedly have taken considerable steps to ensure compliance and members should seek the support and guidance of their firms and should read this guidance in conjunction with employer’s policies and requirements.
