Handling of Listed Buildings Losses

UK society is committed to the conservation and protection of our historical assets, with some of our buildings listed under The Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.

Listed buildings will occasionally be the subject of an insurance claim and may require specialist repair techniques and/or planning considerations.  This paper explains what a listed buildings is, when listing building consent is required and the procedures, parties and expertise involved in seeking and obtaining such consent. The paper also provides practical tips and example scenarios for loss adjusters, including working with Local Authorities and Conservation Officers.
