Join us: Construction, Energy and Engineering Special Interest Group

The Construction, Energy & Engineering Special Interest Group (CEE SIG), which is one of CILA’s key technical committees, brings together professionals who specialise in managing complex claims across:

  • Construction (Contractors All Risks (CAR)/Erection All Risks (EAR));
  • Operational Energy and power generation facilities (oil, gas, renewables); and
  • Engineering (major mechanical and electrical plant (machinery) breakdown.).

Many leading figures within the global insurance market, involved in managing the complex large-scale industrial, infrastructure, and energy losses are CILA Chartered. This accreditation is an internationally recognised professional accreditation providing a mark of trust, integrity, and advanced capability for employers, clients, and claimants.

CILA’s Evolving Role

In 2025, CILA announced it had received member approval to transition to The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusting, subject to Privy Council approval, reflecting the diverse membership across the claims management and adjusting sectors throughout the insurance related industries. The CEE SIG exemplifies this breadth, with members operating in claims handling, loss adjusting, brokerage, claims presentation, risk management and underwriting.

What the CEE SIG Offers

The group plays a vital role in:

  • Delivering technical content and resources, including papers, presentations and events;
  • Supporting Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in CEE topics; and
  • Facilitating a Structured Career Pathway for specialists in construction, energy and engineering claims.

Beyond technical expertise, the CEE SIG aims to foster networking and mentorship, creating opportunities for members to:

  • Connect at conferences and lectures;
  • Share insight and best practices;
  • Explore emerging risks, technological developments, and the impact of digital transformation on CEE Projects and claims; and
  • Attract new talent into the world of CEE claims.

Get Involved!

The CEE SIG is inviting professionals across the globe involved in handling of complex CEE claims to share their expectations and ideas, in line with the CILA manifesto.
